Thriving communities need strong nonprofits
What do the nonprofits in our community need and how can those needs be met?
That’s where you come in. We want to hear from voices across our sector, from program coordinators to executive directors, from big and small organizations, and from new board members to life-long staff. Only when we listen to your perspectives can we create a truly inclusive model to connect and inform learning and development opportunities for Milwaukee area nonprofits.
In partnership with the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management at UWM, we will broadly survey our sector to understand needs and resources available. We invite you to participate through online surveys, interviews, and focus groups. We’ll also review the capacity building services available to Milwaukee nonprofits and better understand effective national models. Along the way, we’ll update you on what we’re learning and solicit your reactions and feedback.
A special thank you to our project partners, who have provided resources, expertise, and support to ensure that our nonprofits have a voice and, ultimately, what they need to create a strong community.
How You Can Help
Finding nonprofits to engage in the 2019 Needs Assessment study is essential. There is no one list of Milwaukee-area nonprofits as not all are required to report to the IRS or State of Wisconsin. Gaining an accurate and thorough understanding of nonprofit needs is the only way good solutions for nonprofit needs can be crafted. If you have suggestions for how the project can find and engage nonprofits or if you are interested in participating in this project please contact us below.
